Top 5 At Home Strength Training Equipment Wishlist!

10:30 AM

Me, with some of my JK1M teammates and coach.

Salam and hello!

In my journey to lose weight, one of the things that I've learn from this experience is exercising. Hahaha. There are a lot of varieties for just one kind of major muscle, for example. So along the way, I have learned that doing it with equipments also helps to increase strength and building muscle too at the same time.

So what did I do? I went and browse on Lazada. Haha. Yup. After browsing through the website, I think these would probably be my top 5 in my current health freak wishlist:

Product : ASOTV Iron Gym Xtreme

  • Heavy-duty steel construction with professional-grade foam grips
  • Quick and easy assembly (tools included)
  • Fits all standard door frames (Width: 24-32 in)
  • Attaches and removes from door frame in seconds
  • Upgraded version of the original Iron Gym workout bar
  • Use for pull-ups, push-ups, and sit-ups for beginners and pros
  • Two additional grip positions allow you to use it for sit-ups, push-ups, and dips, in addition to the standard pull-up configuration
  • Can be attached and removed from your door frame in seconds, with no drilling or fasteners required
Discounted Current Price: RM 68.80

I am the kind who likes to have something that is multi purpose - if you own too many of the same things, it takes up spaces in your house or anywhere. Trust me. There are a lot of ways you can have your workouts with this. For example, if you do a pull-up with this, you can do a wide grip or a close grip pull-up. Haha. (I have yet to master this exercise, I'm not too strong yet >.>)

Product : Adjustable Kettlebell 40LBS / 18kg

  • 40lbs adjustable kettlebell
  • 1 easy locking system - simply pull and rotate
  • Consist of 6 pieces 5lbs plates.
  • Easy and Quick weight change with 5lb adjustable plates each
  • Powder coated handle with non-slippery grip
  • Material: Cast Iron, PVC cover & painted plates
  • Rubber pad at the bottom of kettlebell to cushion during placement
  • Free workout DVD and Users’ Guide
"Kettlebells are just a handle with weight hanging below it, right?

Well that blob of adjustable weight works out to nearly a perfect physical challenge over a wide range of motions. In contrast to dumbbells, the offset kettlebell handle allows for comfortable Swing, Rack and Lock positions for a wide range of fast circuit superset workout options. "

Discounted Current Price: RM 340.00

When there are moves you cannot do with just dumbbells and barbells, you opt for kettlebells. Yes people. It is safer to swing these than dumbbells, especially if you are a klutz or clumsy ;) For this one, it is usually used for a Goblet Squat or a Front-Swing Squat etc. Just some suggestions. Haha. Again, I find this type to be convenient because you do not need to buy different weights, you can just adjust them. Wheww.

Product : Adjustable Sit Up Bench + Weight Bench

  • Multi-position weight bench:
  • Incline, decline and flat positions
  • Conveniently adjusts to multiple angles for a variety of exercises
  • Durable steel construction
  • Fixed uprights add convenience and safety to your workout
  • Comfortable and durable vinyl seats
  • Assembly size: 143 x 33 x 127.5

"Most of the people use ab benches for doing sit-ups which is unquestionable a great exercise to strengthen and flatten the abdominals. However, there are many other abdominal exercises which we can do on this fitness equipment for strengthening lower and upper abs, even lower backs."

Discounted Current Price: RM 199.00

Repeating myself, multi-purpose is important for me. Haha. There is a lot you can do here on one bench. Inclined, you can do an Inclined Dumbbell Row. Declined, you can do crunches. Flat, you can do Russian Twist - just to name a few. I think having this only at home, its like I am gonna have a mini gym sooner or later. Hahaha.

Product : Quality 1.2m Barbell dumbbell Curl Pole GYM Dumbbell Bar

Description : The EZ ("easy") curl bar is a variant of the barbell that is often used for biceps curls, upright rows, and lying triceps extensions. The curved profile of the bar in the grip region allows the user's wrists and forearms to take a more neutral, less supinated position. This reduces the risk of repetitive stress injury in these exercises. However, when performing the biceps curl, using an EZ curl bar prevents full contraction of the biceps-which can only occur with the wrist fully supinated - and thus may prove a less effective exercise (Wikipedia)

Discounted Current Price: RM 100.00

This alone is rather heavy. But I still want to own one! By using this to do tricep curls, it helps to lock your wrist rather than the regular dumbbell and it does not strain your wrist unlike the straight bar. I think I put out tears more when using this one compared to the straight bar ahahahaha. Especially if you are doing Spider Curls >__<

Product : Extra Silent Double Roller Ab Wheel - Six Pack Core Slimming

  • Strengthen and tone your abs, shoulders, arms, and back with this wheel
  • Simply get on all fours, grab hold of the handles, and glide the wheels back and forth across the floor
  • You'll work every major upper body muscle group as your torso adjusts to the movements
Discounted Current Price: RM 43.00

This. This is for your abs workout. If you want to challenge yourself, I suggest you give this a go. Haha. Progress on this so far, not even one perfect complete roll yet. Hahah. I am working on it!

As far as the delivery rates and all, it's not so bad for one like me who is residing in Sarawak. hehe. Looking forward to purchasing one of it soon! I currently own a set of 15kg adjustable dumbbells at home. Teehee. Anyhow, please do not follow what I said here completely hahaha. I am also a newbie, still a beginner AND had consulted with my coach and gym junkie buddies.

Til next time!
