Niko Neko Matcha Superior Green Tea Review10:30 AM
Green tea was not my thing few years back. Haha. I disliked the taste especially. Nowadays, I guess I can deal with having green tea. Even tasted the green tea latte from Starbucks lol. Taste kind of weird but okay. Hahah. But today, I'm not going to talk about just the regular green tea. Today's topic is going to be about Matcha Green Tea! No not macha, the indian word. Lol.
"A long standing tradition of Japanese culture, Matcha Green Tea is the highest quality powdered green tea available. Made from the nutrient-rich young leaves picked from the tips of shade-grown Camellia sinensis plants, Matcha Green Tea is steamed, stemmed, and de-vined before being stone-ground into very fine powder. Matcha Green Tea powder is then stored away from light and oxygen in order to preserve its brilliant green color and antioxidant properties. This miracle elixir has been consumed for over a millennium in the Far East, and is now considered to be one of the most powerful super foods on the market today. - (source)"
Amongst its many health benefits, matcha…
- You ingest the entire leaf and receive 100% of the nutrients of the leaf
- Is packed with antioxidants including the powerful EGC
- Boosts metabolism and burns calories
- Detoxifies effectively and naturally
- Calms the mind and relaxes the body
- Is rich in fiber, chlorophyll and vitamins
- Enhances mood and aids in concentration
- Provides vitamin C, selenium, chromium, zinc and magnesium
- Prevents disease
- Lowers cholesterol and blood sugar
Every day, countless people throw away valuable antioxidants and minerals. While seemingly unimaginable, that’s exactly what happens when you brew a cup of green tea because water can only extract a fraction of green teas benefits. The majority actually remains unused, trapped in the tea leaves. In reality, the only way to truly take advantage of green teas full potential is to consume the entire leaf. But that doesn’t mean you need to start eating tea leaves. The simplest solution is to just enjoy a bowl of matcha. Because matcha is straight, stoneground tea leaves, matcha provides you with green teas powerful arsenal of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids in a way no other green tea can.
In fact, to even begin to match the potency found in a single serving of matcha, you would need to drink at least ten cups of brewed green tea. When it comes to helping you achieve and maintain optimum health, matcha is without equal.
What unique properties of matcha support weight loss?
Already nearly calorie free, matcha is a great addition to a weight loss program by tackling the problem from both sides. It boosts metabolism and burns fat. One recent study even suggested that matcha may help burn calories by four times. At the same time, matcha does not put any stress on the body. It doesn’t raise blood pressure or heart rate, making it a safe alternative to questionable quick fixes or pharmaceuticals ridden with side effects.
A study featured in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that consuming matcha green tea can increase thermogenesis (the body’s own rate of burning calories) from a normal 8%-10% of daily energy expenditure, to between 35% and 43% of daily energy expediture.
Recently, I have purchased my matcha green tea from Niko Neko Matcha. For more information on them, do watch the video below :D

You think you can deal with regular green tea. Try this one for size! Has a calming effect, makes me more alert and concentrate at work. Maintains my weight on days I tend to eat slightly more sometimes haha - meaning to say my metabolism is boosted lol. Some people claim it helped to lose weight. I suppose so. It did help me drop one kilo after an intense workout last week (mind you my weight goal is 4 kg more so it's harder to shed). I don't hate the chlorophyll taste bwahaha. But it's bitter when you leave it cold. Ugh. Lesson learned.
